New Policy For Stumble Upon (Yuck)

Posted in Uncategorized on October 29th, 2007

In the last few days I received threats from Stumble Upon that my stumble account will be closed if I participate in any more Stumble Exchanges. This is the same way that other bookmarking sites like digg has done. They grow off of users like all of us and than they say we can not use the site to promote our own sites using their service. Any promotion or exchange done through their system is now against their terms of service and subject to your account being closed.

In my view, I have used and supported Stumble Upon or a quite while now. I have recommended it to both friends and strangers. I have even created this blog dedicated to them. Now they threaten me and tell me that they will close my account. I, unlike many others that I know, have only created one account and have used the system as per the original terms. I do not care at this point if they close my account because if I or others are not allowed to use the system for promoting websites, it no longer is of any use to me. I will still promote this blog and offer a place for others to showcase their site and if you wish to continue to exchange stumbles with the other sites, feel free to do so. I will not be promoting stumbles but I also will not change the URL of this blog.

I am changing the title to reflect the new view of this site as a blog to showcase some great sites.

Thanks for the past and future support of the blog.
