I have not been and still am not an Obama supporter. However, I have to say, his speech regarding the controversy with his Pastor was well written and he did a good job of pointing out that race issues are a reality and that will not change no matter who becomes president. His example of his white grandmother was a good way to show that racial slurs are not uncommon in America.

I still do not think Obama is a good candidate for president. However, when tackling this issue, I think he was successful in addressing the issue. He did not reply to the comments his wife said about this being the first time she was proud to be an American. He stated previously that she was only referring to politics but it does make you wonder what their real opinions are.
